Today my husband and I went with my brother's family to the Fort Worth Stockyards. I knew it would be a lot of walking and because of that convinced myself to skip the gym this morning. Now, laying in bed with twitching leg muscles, I'm glad I did.
Becuase of the amount of walking I expected to do (which really turned out to be less, but still plenty) I chose to wear my Reebok Easytones. Those are the tennis shoes designed to tighten and tone your leg and butt muscles. I haven't seen any major changes since I got them but I don't wear them very regularly, just weekends. Well, walking around the stockyards has definitely had an effect. My legs and butt are EXTREMELY tired. More than they would be after a regular day of walking. I noticed this last week when we went to six flags too (then, also wearing my easytones).
I've gotten to the point where regular activities have calorie burning potential. Grocery shopping --- park further out and take an extra lap around the outskirts of the store. Bored on a Friday night --- head out on the bicycles or take a walk with the hubs. And, on days like today, and last Sunday --- get out and enjoy the weather with something that is a blast but requires plenty of walking! You could say I've become obsessed.
Anyway, now I'm off to bed so I can get up and hit the gym before church tomorrow!
OH WAIT! I almost forgot the whole reason I was posting tonight. I had what in the weight watchers world is called an NSV (non-scale victory). After the stockyards I wanted cowgirl boots so on the way home my husband stopped at Cavenders and let me get some! And 2 pairs of genuine cowgirl jeans (this apparently means nothing more than just really tight jeans). Anyway, almost everything I tried on fit even though I would pick up a pair of jeans and think, these are small! They're not going to fit! Then, on they slid, without butter or vaseline or anything! And I must admit, I looked awesome!
I'll post pics if I can ever find a camera that works!
